Twenty-Five Years at St. Mark
Msgr. Kevin S. Mullen Council 12956 was chartered in 2001 to serve St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church. Twenty-five years later, the same charter promise still guides us: put faith into action wherever our parish and neighbors need a hand.

Our Story
From our charter under the patronage of Msgr. Kevin S. Mullen, the council has grown alongside the parish it serves — 238 brother Knights who usher at Mass, build the Bethlehem Experience at Christmas, fry fish through Lent, mentor students, and answer quietly when a parish family needs help. That record earned Star Council honors, one of the highest distinctions a Knights of Columbus council can receive. On June 13, 2026, the parish will celebrate a special anniversary Mass marking 25 years of Council 12956 — and the beginning of our next chapter.

The Principles That Guide Us
Charity
Love of neighbor comes first — food drives, scholarships, wheelchairs, and support for mothers who choose life for their babies.
Unity
None of us is as good as all of us. Together we accomplish what no Knight could achieve alone.
Fraternity
Founded to protect widows and children, the Order still stands watch over brother Knights and their families today.
Patriotism
Catholic and proudly American — devoted to God and country, and unafraid to stand up for both.
Part of Something Larger
The Knights of Columbus was founded in 1882 by Blessed Michael J. McGivney, a parish priest who gathered working men in a church basement in New Haven, Connecticut to protect Catholic families. Today the Order is the world's largest Catholic fraternal service organization — more than two million members whose service spans parishes, communities, and countries. Council 12956 carries that mission forward at St. Mark the Evangelist in Tampa.
